SKT adds Untara as top lane substitute

Esports Asia News
SK Telecom T1 finalized its roster for the League Champions Korea summer split by adding top lane substitute Park “Untara” Ui-jin. The Korean e-Sports Association announced all of the LCK rosters through its official Twitter account on Wednesday. Many of the teams have remained the same, but SKT has added Untara, a former CJ Entus player, as a substitute in the top lane for Heo “Huni” Seung-Hoon. Since Kim “Profit” Jun-hyung moved to the Ninjas in Pyjamas in the European League of Legends Championship Series, SKT was in the market for a sub at that position. Untara was most recently a part of CJ Entus before leaving the team last year, electing to not play professionally during the most recent spring split. Despite his history of being a top tier player in the Challenger ladder in 2015, and his experience in China as a part of Star Horn Royal Club, he faltered quite a bit in in last year’s summer split, in which CJ Entus was relegated. The coaching staff of SKT, led by Kim “kkOma” Jung-gyun, is well-known for having eyes for talent. KkOma was the man who built SKT to what it is today. It will be interesting to see if Untara will indeed find his place with the best team in the world and how he will measure up compared to Huni, who is coming off a strong split for the reigning LCK, Mid-Season Invitational and world champions.
