SKT Wolf: “There are a lot of players who (want me to hug them). Peanut does it a lot.”

Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan, support player for reigning League of Legends world champion SK Telecom T1, seems to embrace his role as one of the most lovable professional players in Korea. After SKT’s 2-0 victory over the Jin Air Green Wings on Tuesday, Wolf and Park “Untara” Ui-jin were invited to the post-match interview with SpoTV as the MVPs of the match. Untara mentioned he had a quite positive opinion of Wolf, joking and saying that he wants to be “held by him,” and Wolf was quick to say Untara isn’t the only one. “There are a lot of players who do that,” he said, with a broad smile. “Peanut (Han Wang-ho) does it a lot. It kind of feels wrong. I hope he keeps it under control.” A moment that was talked about across League of Legends regions has been Wolf’s Braum ultimate that predicted the switching positioning from the enemy LeBlanc, successfully ulting her with a split second decision. Although it was impressive, Wolf said he didn’t expect to be the MVP off of that, saying that “it was just the obvious call.” Wolf has also been one of the few supports as of late to get MVP nods from games, as supports don’t often get the limelight of the matches. When asked about what the team said to him after the MVP of Game 1 was announced, Wolf shared a joke he tells in the booth. “As joke I always say that ‘I guess the lobbying I did is paying off,’” he said. “I say this because I’m kind of embarrassed to be the MVP since everyone played well, so I like to joke around about that.”
