[hkes_show_google_ad] Team Liquid has announced changes to their LCS team during the break created from IEM Katowice, including tryouts for the mid position, casting some doubt as to the future of their current mid laner, Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer. In a Facebook Live AMA, the Team Liquid co-CEO Steve “Liquid112” Arhancet and new LoL manager Michael Artess took to the stream to answer questions about the direction of the team heading into a break week of the NA LCS Spring Split. They answered questions about former mid lane substitute Austin “Link” Shin but did not provide concrete ideas of what potential changes to the roster would be. The team also reaffirmed their commitment to Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin and suggested that Goldenglue was a prime target of underperformance for the last place squad. “We recognize that Goldenglue is underperforming on the roster. We understand the damage dealt in teamfights associated with that. We understand that the meta is very different than where our strengths lie as a team.” Arhancet said. “We understand that the champion selection and kind of ban/pick process and drafting process isn’t giving us the most optimal results in scrims. We understand that some of the staff that we had associated with the team wasn’t really working perfectly.” Team Liquid also committed to searching for a solution but suggested that the ideal configuration of the team may be the situation as it currently stands, if the other ideas don’t work out during the two-week period of experimentation. “We’re doing the very best we can with the narrow options… Here’s the thing, at the end of this, at the end of this testing week, we may decide that maybe all of these options suck.” Steve noted.
