Recognition on an international stage almost moved SK Telecom T1 support Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan to tears. Wolf told OSEN’s Ko Yong-jun he was close to crying when he saw that he was acknowledged as the MVP of the finals of the Mid-Season Invitational, in which SKT defeated Europe’s G2 Esports 3-1 to claim its second MSI title in a row. “I am so happy that I was the MVP of the finals as MSI,” he said. “It’s more honoring since it is a MVP nod during a tournament that only happens once a year. I almost teared up when I saw that I was the MVP. I think I made a memory that I won’t be able to forget for a long time.” Wolf also said that the tournament was a good chance for him to get closer with G2’s support player Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez, thanks to Mithy actively approaching Wolf during the tournament. They even got to undo a “misunderstanding” that Mithy had about Wolf, thinking that Wolf didn’t respect him. On the topic of being ranked second in ESPN’s list of best supports at MSI, Wolf said it initially bothered him to some extent, but he quickly got over it. “It was a little depressing as I wondered ‘How long must this be the case?’” he said. “But my teammates didn’t seem to care about the ranking at all so I also elected to do (the same).”
