Counter Logic Gaming have signed former Immortals jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett, while former CLG jungler Jake “Xmithie” Puchero has signed with Immortals. “I joined CLG primarily because they are a strong roster with a great support staff that I think can help me improve as a person and player,” Dardoch said in a press release. “I hope everyone can accept me in place of Xmithie. I understand the concerns you probably have about me joining the roster, given my reputation, as well as it being the first roster change in quite some time for CLG. But I hope you guys support me either way and I’ll do my best to make CLG the best team it can be.” Dardoch finished in seventh place with Immortals during the 2017 NA LCS Spring Split, narrowly missing playoffs. He finished the season with a 2.8 KDA, the fourth lowest of all starting junglers in the league, but also had 181 kills, the most of all junglers. “We knew lots of changes needed to … occur to obtain the results that we are seeking,” CLG’s director of esports, Matthew “Trinitiii” Nausha, said in a press release. “CLG is committed to being the best and winning esports team — continuing the legacy of what made CLG the organization it is today. Dardoch is a young, talented, and passionate player that brings with him an incredible amount of drive.” Xmithie is moving to Immortals after a difficult season with CLG. CLG was a decidedly middle-of-the-pack team throughout the spring split, and finished in 5th-6th in the playoffs. Meanwhile, Xmithie finished the split with a 2.4 KDA, the lowest of all starting junglers in the league, and 164 deaths, the most for any jungler that split. “Part of the task we’ve taken on at IMT is developing younger North American talent, starting in Spring with Cody Sun, and continuing into Summer with two yet-to-be-announced in house substitutes,” Immortals CEO Noah Whinston said in a press release. “We’re excited to see the impact that Xmithie’s veteran presence and wealth of experience will have on these promising rookies.”
