Dignitas adds saintvicious to coaching staff

Team Dignitas added an old face to its coaching staff: Brandon “Saintvicious” DiMarco. Dignitas announced Friday the return of Saintvicious as a coach for its League of Legends team. Saintvicious is expected to work with David “Cop” Roberson, who was added to Dignitas in the middle of the spring split of the North American League Championship Series. Saintvicious coached APEX Gaming last year before the roster was purchased — along with Dignitas — by the Philadelphia 76ers. Since then the team made a handful of changes to its roster, most prominently Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho from KT Rolster and Lee “Chaser” Sang-hyeon from Longzhu Gaming, two League Champions Korea teams. “It’s good to be back with my former players and the management group at Team Dignitas,” Saintvicious said in a statement. “The talent level of our players should allow us to compete with the top tier teams. We need to work together to continuously improve our macro play and team coordination. Coach Cop and I look forward to the challenge. Our primary goal is to get this team to the World Championships.” Dignitas’ return to the North American LCS wasn’t as smooth as it would have hoped, at one point dropping to ninth in the standings and struggling to make it above eighth until they managed to soar to sixth place by the end of week 10, qualifying for the playoffs. However the team was swept 3-0 by Phoenix1, which went on to place third in the season.
