Dignitas defeat FaZe in DreamHack

Esports Asia News
dignitas have booked a spot in the DreamHack ZOWIE Open Bucharest semi-finals after disposing of FaZe 2-0 (16-7 on Nuke and 16-6 on Cache). The final match of the day was a survival battle between FaZe and dignitas, two teams who had faced each other during the first round of the group, with the former G2 side coming out on top thanks to a stellar display from Håvard “rain” Nygaard. This time around, however, the match would take a very different turn, with dignitas turning in a fantastic display on Nuke despite losing the first three rounds on the CT side. Once we entered the gun rounds, the dynamic of the game changed as dignitas picked up seven of the next eight rounds, forcing FaZe to call a tactical pause. But the Danes kept their momentum going, conceding just one more round before the end of the half. FaZe benefited from the break and picked up the pistol round with a fantastic B retake and the following anti-eco to reduce the gap to 7-10. But then the game followed the same pattern as the first half, with dignitas dominating proceedings as soon as they got money to work with, bagging six rounds in a row en-route to a classy 16-7 finish. dignitas through to the semi-finals in Bucharest Next up was Cache, where dignitas got out to a fast 2-0 lead on the CT side. A third-round buy from FaZe proved effective, but they were unable to capitalise on that and had to deal with a hard reset. dignitas went on to add two more rounds to their tally, but then a 1vs2 clutch from Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey gave FaZe some much-needed breathing room. The Danes refused to take their foot off the pedal, however, bringing the scoreline to 8-2. After calling a timeout, FaZe managed to get three rounds in a row, but then dignitas picked up the final two rounds of the half. FaZe out in the groups for the second event in a row The second half began with FaZe taking the pistol round, but once again they let game slip through their grasp as dignitas won a tec9 push and kept pilling the pressure on their opponents before eventually getting 16 rounds on the board thanks to a 1v2 clutch from René “cajunb” Borg.
