Doublelift rejoins Team SoloMid

Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng has rejoined Team SoloMid for the 2017 NA LCS Summer Split, according to an announcement from the team. However, he will not be competing with them at the Mid-Season Invitational. “I’m really excited to be playing again on TSM, and feel reinvigorated from this break. After last season’s Worlds, I was overwhelmed by the weight of my massive underperformance when it mattered most,” Doublelift said in a statement. “Coming back into LCS, my only priority is to win worlds and nothing else. It’s a huge honor to be able to play with everyone on TSM and I will make the most of it. This is the hungriest that I’ve ever been to succeed, and soon I will prove it to my teammates, my fans, and the world.” Doublelift’s replacement on the team, Jason “WildTurtle” Tran, will stay on with TSM with the two sharing AD Carry duties. However, the announcement says Doublelift will not be moving back into TSM’s team house, but will instead be staying at an apartment near their complex. The move will not affect scrims or his duties on the roster. Doublelift stepped down from the starting roster in November with the intention of sitting out the spring split. Following a disappointing performance at Worlds, the 23-year-old player said he wanted a break from the stress of competitive play and instead stream. “I don’t know how to explain it, but I’ve never had a real life, I’ve never had, like, real relationships, real quality time with my friends and stuff like that,” Doublelift said in video from TSM last November. “Like, I’ve hardly been able to take a break, you know? We average like one day off a month. So, my perspective has been really unclear all this time. What is it like to have a real life? What is it like to be a streamer over a pro player? Like, is this really what I want to do?” He cut his hiatus short in March when he unexpectedly joined Team Liquid as they began inching ever closer to the NA LCS promotion tournament. While Liquid’s fortunes didn’t turn with Doublelift’s addition, he did help them avoid relegation
