CJ Entus, one of the largest non-endemic organizations in Korean League of Legends, were relegated from LoL Champions Korea contention on Saturday following a 3-0 sweep by ESC Ever. Jungler Choi “Bless” Hyeon-woong and top laner Kim “Crazy” Jae-hee returned to ESC’s starting lineup for the series, while CJ settled on their most cohesive unit throughout the promotion tournament — Park “Shy” Sang-myeon in top and Kim “Sky” Ha-neul in mid. Game 1 was a 71-minute affair that was eventually won by ESC and their scaling composition with Gangplank and Caitlyn. ESC managed to turtle through multiple Barons and Elder Drakes from CJ before winning a fight in the upper river and the game. Despite a few miscues from both Bless and Crazy in Game 2, ESC jumped out to an early lead and did not relinquish it, using smothering pressure to push CJ back. CJ was held to only one turret taken all game. By Game 3, ESC had learned from their Game 1 mistakes, making the most of Caitlyn/Karma’s pushing power to attack turrets early. CJ subbed in mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong as a last resort, yet were overwhelmed by ESC’s strong lanes and looked lost throughout the game. As an organization, CJ Entus inherited the legacy of the MiG/Azubu sister teams Frost and Blaze when they acquired both in February 2013. Neither of these teams lived up to their lofty expectations while under the CJ banner. Blaze’s IEM Championship victory, a 2013 World Cyber Games title, and Champions Spring 2013 Finals appearance along with Frost’s NLB Spring 2014 title stand as the organization’s greatest accomplishments. Notable players for the organization include current CJ support Hong “MadLife” Min-gi and top laner Shy. Additionally, top laner Lee “Flame” Ho-jong, once the best top laner in the world, Kang “Ambition” Chan-yong, Kang “Cpt Jack” Hyung-woo, Lee “CloudTemplar” Hyun-woo have all played for the organization throughout their history among many others.
