eUnited to acquire GBM and DanDy

Esports Asia News

Former Team Vitality substitute mid laner Lee “GBM” Chang-seok and 2014 World Champion jungler Choi “DanDy” In-kyu are in the process of finalizing agreements with North American Challenger Series team eUnited, sources close to all three parties told ESPN. However, no official agreement has been signed yet. The two players will join the team and move to North America to replace European junglers Erberk “Gilius” Demir and mid laner Hampus “Fox” Myhre. Gilius has since announced his departure from the team, while Fox has yet to address the situation publicly. The news comes after eUnited failed to qualify for the North American League Championship Series in April after a failed bid in the 2017 Spring Promotion Tournament. The team also parted ways with Ram “Brokenshard” Djemal and may make other changes before the beginning of the summer, according to sources. This will mark GBM’s return to North America after he transferred to a European team. For Dandy, eUnited will be the first team he’s competed on since he ended his two-year tenure with Vici Gaming in November. Prior to competing with Vici, DanDy played for the Samsung White lineup that won the 2014 League of Legends World Championship. The eUnited organization first launched in 2016 as a new brand operated by those formerly involved with Enemy Esports, Daniel “Clerkie” Clerke Robert “Chachi” Stemmler. The former is traveling to South Korea today, according to sources. The organization has teams in Overwatch, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Call of Duty, Smite and Gears of War. It has since moved into League of Legends with the purchase of the spot previously owned by Team Liquid Academy in early 2017. eUnited did not respond to a request for comment.
