The circumstances were very similar in that San Shao announced his departure from EDG at the start of the Mid-Season Invitational, shortly after EDG’s loss to Royal Never Give Up in the 2016 LPL Spring final. Recently, Royal Never Give Up lost to EDward Gaming in the LPL Summer Final in Guangzhou. It has not yet been revealed where San Shao will go next. San Shao is well known in the community for his outgoing personality, his lauded diary entries, his skill as a manager, and his short-running online show, San Shao Says. Both EDward Gaming and Royal Never Give Up will attend the 2016 World Championship in October.
