[hkes_show_google_ad] ex-NRG eSports players Fatih “gob b” Dayik, Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninic, Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz have formed a new team dubbed BIG. The team have also bought out Johannes “nex” Maget’s contract from mousesports and bought out of Kevin “keev” Bartholomäus’ contract from ALTERNATE aTTaX. “After our 1-year stint with NRG in North America, Johannes (tabseN), Niko (Legija) and myself have decided to return to Germany and together create a German team that we’ve been dreaming about,” gob b said in the team’s Facebook statement. The news follows the unstable situation surrounding NRG eSports and the three former players, starting on Nov. 17 when it was reported that keev would replace Peter “ptr” Gurney. A day later, NRG announced the signing of Luis “peacemaker” Tadeu as the team’s coach and general manager, stating an intention to rebuild the roster. The eventual rumor milling regarding NRG’s possible roster prompted a response from NRG later that day, stating that all their players were still under contract. However, peacemaker left NRG less than a month later on Dec. 9 citing differences in vision and NRG announced the release of gob b, tabseN and LEGIJA on Dec. 19 in lieu of a full North American roster. The team has already competed together in part, playing with Stefan “stfN” Seier instead of keev on a team called hmm. They advanced through the open qualifier of the European qualifier for DreamHack Masters Las Vegas, where their opening match will be against mousesports, which was the former team of all the BIG players except keev during various points in their careers.
