Gold Coin United sign MadLife

Esports Asia News

Former CJ Entus support Hong “MadLife” Min-gi will be joining fledgling NA Challenger Series team Gold Coin United. MadLife previously played with GCU coach Choi “Locodoco” Yoon-seop on MiG Frost back in 2011. He has also played with the current CJ Entus team since CJ Entus Frost and CJ Entus Blaze were combined in November 2014. Despite high-place finishes in 2015, the team suffered in 2016, placing 10th in the LCK summer season with a 3-15 record and got relegated out of the league in the 2017 Spring Promotion Tournament. In November, CJ Entus released the entirety of their roster, including MadLife. However, MadLife is still one of Korea’s most celebrated players, participating in all four All-Star Events since 2013 and winning best support at the 2012 Korean e-Sports Awards. MadLife is the final member of the team’s roster, joining the likes of Lucas “Santorin” Larssen, Colin “Solo” Earnest, Richard “Rikara” Samuel Oh and Kim “FeniX” Jae-hun who signed on with the team on Dec. 15.
