Former Counter Logic Gaming in-game leader James “hazed” Cobb has joined OpTic Gaming as a trial coach, according to a statement on social media. According to OpTic’s Will “RUSH” Wierzba, hazed will also be standing in for Jason “jasonR” Ruchelski at IEM Sydney in May. hazed left CLG on Dec. 31, shortly after the team failed to qualify for the ELEAGUE Major. During his time with the org, hazed attended five Majors, Seasons 3 and 4 of ESL Pro League North America, both seasons of the Esports Championship Series, and ELEAGUE Season 1. OpTic has seen some roster turbulence of late, with Peter “Stanislaw” Jarguz leaving the team to join Team Liquid in February followed by TL’s Spencer “Hiko” Martin standing in with OpTic at DreamHack Masters Las Vegas. Hiko’s former coach on TL, Luis “Peacemaker” Tadeu, also joined OpTic on a trial basis for DHMLV, but both ended up leaving the team after disappointing performances at both Vegas and IEM Katowice. OpTic fans will get to see if hazed’s addition to the team will turn their fortunes around at IEM Sydney May 3-7.
