IEM Katowice details released

[hkes_show_google_ad] The schedule for the Intel Extreme Masters Season 11 World Championship has been released. While the main event will take place Feb. 25-26 at the Spodek arena in Katowice, Poland, the opening matches of the group stage will take place offstage Feb. 22-23. Qualified teams include the highest-placing team from each region during the 2016 LoL World Championship, EDward Gaming, H2k-Gaming, Cloud9, and Albus NoX Luna, and Season 10 winners SK Telecom T1. They’ll face off against the winners of IEM Oakland, the Unicorns of Love, and IEM Gyeonggi, Samsung Galaxy, and a final team that has yet to be announced. The tournament has a $150,000 prize pool of which the winner will get $70,000, second place $30,000, third and fourth place $15,000, fifth and sixth $7,000, and seventh and eighth $3,000. For the first time in IEM circuit history, the world championship will take place over two weekends, with the LoL event taking place Feb. 25-26 and the CS:GO and StarCraft events taking place Mar. 3-5.
