Immortals sign Dardoch

Immortals have signed former Team Liquid jungler Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett to a three-year contract, the organization announced Wednesday. “Three year contracts in esports aren’t common, but in Dardoch we see a special kind of player,” Immortals CEO Noah Whinston stated in a press release. “There are obvious areas of improvement for him, but Josh has the potential to be a generational North American talent. Few players have a better work ethic, more passion for the game, or a greater desire to win. With the support of the Immortals staff and organization, we look forward to helping Dardoch reach new heights.” Dardoch is stepping into big shoes on Immortals. He’ll be replacing Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin as the team’s starting jungler, after Reignover finished two straight splits with a Top 2 KDA among junglers in the NA LCS. Dardoch, for his part, was second only to Reignover while playing for Liquid during the spring split. Dardoch joined Liquid in January as part of their 10-man roster. He replaced Christian “IWillDominate” Riviera as the team’s starting jungler after Week 1 of the spring split. He was briefly suspended for behavioral issues ahead of the summer split, and was replaced by Galen “Moon” Holgate for one series. Dardoch was back on the starting roster later that week. “The reasoning behind choosing Immortals as the team I want to play for in the foreseeable future, since I signed multi-year, is because from the get-go I knew that the structure in place would leave me in a good spot regardless of roster,” Dardoch said in a press release. Immortals recently re-signed mid laner Eugene “Pobelter” Park to a two-year contract after losing the rest of their 2016 roster. Immortals placed first in the 2016 NA LCS Spring Split and second in the summer, but were unable to translate their regular season to success to playoffs victory, finishing third in both spring and summer and missing their show at Worlds after placing second in the North American Regional Finals.
