Kim “Khan” Dong-ha said that not even the level veteran heads of Longzhu Gaming could have calmed down the new bloods in Game 1.
Longzhu defeated the Afreeca Freecs 2-1 in Saturday’s League Champions Korea match, climbing into third place in the summer split. In an interview with Daily eSports’ Lee Yoon-ji,Longzhu’s top laner Khan said even though his team had the lead, they couldn’t help but become blood thirsty.
“We couldn’t calm ourselves down because we were so ahead,” he said. “I think we lost because we lost our cool. Not even our (bottom lane) could stop our boiling blood. We just kept wanting to fight while abandoning game management, so we regrouped and came back for Games 2 and 3.”
Khan also drew attention with his professional play as Mordekaiser in the top lane. When asked about his champion choice, he said it was a strategic choice for the team. He continued to say that “there are no bad champions in League,” and that he has more surprise picks currently in stasis by the coach.
With this latest victory, Khan said that it’s no longer just the “top 3” power struggle in Korea, but more of a “top 3.5” as his team has become quite formidable. When asked for his goal, he said that it was to beat one of the best top laners in Korea, Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho.
“I want to beat all of the good top laners in Korea,” he said. “Right now I think KT Rolster’s Smeb is the best one. I can’t find an immediate weakness in him. His landing, teleport timing, and grouping are all good.”
