Krepo steps down from League of Legends casting at MSI after nude leak

Esports Asia News

European League of Legends caster Mitch “Krepo” Voorspoels stepped down from casting the Mid-Season Invitational after nude photos of him leaked on the internet. “As embarrassing as it is, it’s true that personal photos of me have been circulated on the internet,” Krepo wrote on Twitter. “These were private conversations and were recorded and released without my consent. For the time being, I’ll be stepping away from social media and MSI desk duties.” The leak included sexually explicit messages from Krepo and nude images of the 27-year-old commentator. The source of the leak is unclear, but one Twitter user told Krepo on Friday, a day before the images surfaced, to message him or “docs would be linked.” There are also questions about the age of the recipient of the photos, as Richard Lewis reported a discussion from the site 4chan resulted in multiple sources claiming the recipient, a girl, had recently turned 16, a claim that was repeated on Twitter by multiple users who claimed to know the recipient. Twitch streamer Ali “Gross Gore” Larson accused Krepo on stream last year of sleeping with a underage girl, a claim Gross Gore later apologized for making. Gross Gore was banned from Twitch for a year over the remarks and only recently was allowed back on the streaming site. Krepo almost assuredly would have been on the desk for Sunday’s final of MSI, as he is one of Riot Games’ most popular casters. He became an European LCS caster in the summer of 2015 after retiring from a four-year playing career. The European League of Legends Championship Series resumes next week, and Krepo’s status for the broadcast is uncertain. Riot Games did not initially respond to a request for comment.
