KT Rolster coach Lee Ji-Hoon on team’s late-night practices

Esports Asia News
KT Rolster head coach Lee Ji-Hoon said his team has been putting in longer hours — including some late into the night — to practice League of Legends. KT is so far living up to the “KT summer buff” meme this season, as it took down previously unbeaten Samsung Galaxy 2-1 on Thursday and gained sole possession of first place in the League Champions Korea standings. In an interview with OSEN’s Ko Yong-jun, Lee said the team has been burning the midnight oil. “I want to thank the players and coaching staff for doing very late night practices in spite of the very tough schedule on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday,” he said. “They were also able to regain their energy thanks to the eel dishes the company sent to the team, which is a very replenishing food. Thank you.” The team was on a rocky start after losing 2-0 to Longzhu Gaming in the first match of the split, but KT has since recovered and managed to take four wins in a row. Lee credited the improved team play to “increased synergy” among the players, which comes from a sense of faith. He also said that because of the “active comms” the team has seen a reduced number of mistakes. As for his feelings of KT’s steady increase in the standings, Lee said the standings aren’t as important as just performing well. “I’m not thinking too much about where we are in the standings,” he said. “Each win is very important, and I think focusing on one win at a time is giving us good results.”
