Misfits players and coach on the challenges of playing in the EU LCS

[hkes_show_google_ad] As the only new EU LCS team in the upcoming spring split, Misfits have a lot to prove. The team may have steamrolled the EU CS last season, but they’re now facing down the toughest LoL competition in Europe. But the players aren’t worried too much. “There’s going to be some pressure at any level of competition, even in random UK LANs with under 50 viewers on Twitch,” top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris said in a Reddit AmA. “I don’t think playing in LCS with people having high expectations of me will be much different and I don’t think it’ll really affect me as I know that I’m in control of whether or not I live up to those expectations, and if I don’t then it just means I need to practice more.” Alphari joined Misfits in May, when the organization bought the Renegades: Banditos roster, but he’s the only member of the current starting roster that’s been with the team since then. AD carry Steven “Hans sama” and support Liv Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun were on the roster during their 2016 EU CS Spring Split run, but new mid laner Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage says it doesn’t quite feel like that. “I get along very well with all my teammates and we are having a lot of fun together,” PowerOfEvil said in the AmA. “Kakao has a really good attitude and I am sure we can improve a lot together in this split. I am very confident that we are going to perform really well and I definitely want to show what I am capable of!” As for Lee “KaKAO” Bung-kwon, the team’s coach Hussain “Daku” Moosvi pointed out that he was the best jungler the team tried out, but it was his experience living abroad that made him more attractive to the team, especially considering his personality. Daku says that that kind of positive attitude is what Misfits is going to need to weather the upcoming season. “I suspect the hardest challenge for us as a team will be learning patience through losses and humility in wins,” Daku said in the AmA. “As a new team just entering the LCS, it can be easy to get caught up in the moment of what’s happening currently, but it’s important to remember that the end goal of every LCS season is the World Championship. We have to practice hard and aim to perform when that moment comes.” [hkes_show_google_ad]
