Misfits terminate contract of jungler Lee “KaKAO” Byung-kwon

Esports Asia News

European League of Legends team Misfits will terminate its agreement with jungler Lee “KaKAO” Byung-kwon, sources close to the team and player tell ESPN. The team intends to offer the player a severance package, according to sources, who did not specify the figures attached. The team is also in the process of finalizing an offer for a new jungler, likely to be Nubar “Maxlore” Sarafian of seventh-place Team ROCCAT, according to sources. No deal is currently signed for that player’s transfer to the Misfits side. ROCCAT and Misfits both declined to comment for this story. KaKAO will soon be on the lookout for a new team after his team took fourth in its first League Championship Series spring split after a playoff loss to Fnatic several weeks ago. KaKAO joined Misfits in December after it moved its former jungler Leon “Lamabear” Krüger to its Academy team. Prior to competing with Misfits, KaKAO competed in both South Korea and China on numerous teams in the KT Rolster and Invictus Gaming organizations. Misfits entered the League Championship Series last August after a promotion tournament win over FC Schalke 04, which demoted that team from the league. Since then, the Misfits organization, based in North America, has been partially acquired by the Miami Heat.
