The ROX Tigers have finally unveiled their League of Legends roster for the 2017 season. In a post on their Facebook page Wednesday, the team revealed the six-player roster that will compete in the LCK 2017 Spring Season: Park “Shy” Sang-myeon, top
Heo “Lindarang” Man-heung, top
Yoon “SeongHwan” Seong-hwan, jungle
Son “Mickey” Young-min, mid
Gwon “Sangyoon” Sang-yun, AD carry
Kim “Key” Han-gi, support
Lindarang, Mickey, SeongHwan and SangYoon were all previously members of the Afreeca Freecs, representing that organization during the 2016 season. Lindarang was previously a mid laner, acting primarily as a backup for the Freecs, but moved to the top lane in late May 2016. The Freecs finished in fifth place in both 2016 splits, and were unable to run the gauntlet at the 2016 Season Korea Regional Finals, falling 3-1 to Samsung Galaxy. Key was formerly the support for ESC Ever, and was a big part of their victory at the 2015 LoL KeSPA Cup, where they swept SK Telecom T1 2-0 in the semifinals and CJ Entus 3-0 in the Grand Finals. Key was awarded the tournament’s MVP award for his play. ESC Ever also won IEM Cologne in 2015, defeating H2k-Gaming and Qiao Gu Reapers. Shy has the top laner for CJ Entus for the 2015 and 2016 seasons, but did not play a single game during the LCK 2016 Spring Season, with the team opting instead to start top laner Park “Untara” Ui-jin. In the LCK 2016 Summer Season, Shy played 16 games, the majority of which were on Gnar, Shen and Trundle. He earned a 2.79 KDA overall. The ROX Tigers’ previous roster, which was favored to win Worlds after finishing first in the LCK 2016 Summer Season, but fell short in the semifinals, left at the end of November.
