Vega Squadron have eliminated Ninjas in Pyjamas from the ELEAGUE Major qualifier following a stunning 16-2 victory on Cache. Vega Squadron came out of the gate looking scary, winning the first five rounds to put NiP in a very tough spot. Adam “friberg” Friberg then took matters into his own hands and won a 1v3 clutch to give his team a round on the board, but the Swedes were unable to follow it up and had to settle for a hard reset. The Russian team continued amassing rounds and eventually brought the scoreline to a 9-1 advantage, forcing NiP to call a tactical pause. The Swedes then had a great chance to get back into the game but wasted a 2on1 advantage against Sergey “Keshandr” Nikishin. That round was proof of the state of disarray NiP were in, with the half ending in a 13-2 scoreline. Vega Squadron were far too strong for the Ninjas NiP were then dealt another heavy blow as they could not hold the B site in the pistol round. Two force buys from the Swedes then followed, but Vega Squadron did not falter, taking the map, 16-2, after what was a one-sided game.
