Origen to get new coach for LCS team

Esports Asia News
Alvar “Araneae” Martin Aleñar is set to become head coach of Origen, replacing current coach Nicholas “NicoThePico” Korsgaard, according to a report from ESPN’s Jacob Wolf Tuesday. NicoThePico became head coach of Origen on April 3, after working as the team’s analyst for a month. Araneae has worked with Origen before, both as a substitute jungler and as part of its coaching staff in the leadup to the 2015 World Championship, alongside Titus “LeDuck” Hafner and Tadayoshi “Hermit” Littleton. Origen has had a difficult history with coaches, and Araneae will be the fifth head coach they’ve had in the past year. As ESPN notes, Paul “sOAZ” Boyer and Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider have tweeted that EU coaches are “useless” and far behind coaches in Korea and China. Origen are ranked second-last in the EU LCS heading in to Week 6, with a 1-6-3 series record. The team have struggled since losing AD carry Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou in Week 2 of the split and replacing him with Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño, a team co-owner and substitute mid laner.   [Source: TheScore]
