Piglet returns to Team Liquid

Esports Asia News

AD carry Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin has returned to Team Liquid’s starting roster, according to a video announcement from the team. Today’s announcement confirms earlier reports that Piglet would be returning to the main roster after playing for Team Liquid Academy in the NA Challenger Series for much of the 2016 summer season. Piglet is a former world champion, winning Season 3 in 2013 when he played with SK Telecom T1. After he was released from SKT in 2014, he joined Team Curse in North America and stayed on with the roster as Curse merged with Team Liquid in January 2015. Team Liquid has made several changes to its roster this offseason, replacing Josh “Dardoch” Hartnett with Immortals jungler Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin as well as replacing mid laner Kim “FeniX” Jae-hun with ex-Echo Fox player Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer. Since NA Teams are only allowed to field a maximum of two players from other regions on their starting roster, it’s possible Liquid decided to part ways with FeniX to accommodate Reignover and Piglet. The team’s 2016 top laner, Samson “Lourlo” Jackson, and support, Matthew “Matt” Elento, are also confirmed to be returning. Team Liquid Academy came in second in the NA CS summer playoffs with Piglet as their ADC. While they lost to Cloud9 Challenger in the finals, the team still qualified for the spring 2017 promotion tournament where they lost against Echo Fox in the elimination round. Piglet garnered a 3.8 KDA in the NA CS summer playoffs with an 82 percent kill participation. Team Liquid’s finalized roster for the 2017 NA LCS spring season is as follows: Top: Samson “Lourlo” Jackson Jungle: Kim “Reignover” Yeu-jin Mid: Greyson “Goldenglue” Gilmer ADC: Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin Support: Matthew “Matt” Elento
