Paris Saint-Germain are ready to compete in the EU Challenger Series with Jin “Blanc” Seong-min starting at mid lane, Na “Pilot” Woo-hyung at AD carry, Thomas “Kirei” Yuen in jungle, Etienne “Steve” Michels at top and Hampus “sprattel” Mikael Abrahamsson at support.

The news confirms earlier reports that Blanc and Pilot, formerly of Jin Air Green Wings, would join PSG. As members of Jin Air, the two placed fourth in the LCK Spring Playoffs, but struggled in the summer season, missing the playoffs and finishing seventh with a 19-26 game record. Though the team competed in the 2016 Korea Regional Finals for a spot at Worlds, they were knocked out in the first round in a 3-2 loss to Afreeca Freecs. Kirei is best known for his time on Team Dignitas, where he played from Nov. 2015 to June 2016. After Dignitas was relegated to the NA Challenger Series, Kirei joined Epsilon eSports, where he secured a 2.43 KDA across 10 games in the summer season. Though Epsilon finished fourth, the team was swept out of the playoffs by Misfits 3-0. Steve has played for Team ROCCAT and Elements Gaming. He joined FC Schalke 04 ahead of the 2016 EU LCS summer season when the German soccer team bought Elements’ spot in the LCS. Though Schalke placed eighth, Steve earned a respectable 2.93 KDA on a large variety of heroes through the regular season. However, despite top seeding in the promotion tournament, Schalke were unable to defeat either ROCCAT or Misfits and were relegated to Challenger. Joining Steve is fellow Schalke teammate Sprattel, who has only played on three other teams before joining PSG. As the starting support for Schalke, Sprattel primarily played Karma, earning a strong 4.57 KDA across 13 games on the champion. PSG announced the launch of their esports division in October after they acquired Team Huma’s spot in the 2017 European Challenger Series Spring Split. Retired Fnatic support Bora “YellOwStaR” Kim is leading the division and helped them select players, though he is not coaching the team.
