[hkes_show_google_ad] Selfless Gaming have earned a slot into ESL Pro League Season 5’s North American league after they defeated Splyce 2-1 in the Last Chance series on Thursday. Selfless will replace Echo Fox in the upcoming season of EPL as the team was unable to field a roster in time for the start of the season. The first map of the series was Cobble, and Selfless got off to a strong 10-5 start on their T-side half. Splyce nearly made a comeback on their T-side, but Selfless denied the overtime and finished the map 16-14. Next up was Mirage and Splyce dominated that map to the tune of a 16-6 scoreline to tie the series. The deciding map of the series was Cache, and Selfless took a strong 10-5 half. Splyce had decent momentum going into the second half, but not enough to make up for the first half and Selfless won 16-12 to take the series. Splyce notably played with former Team SoloMid in-game leader Kory “SEMPHIS” Friesen as a stand-in since Asger “AcilioN” Larsen left the team on Jan. 31. Selfless finished in 12th place during EPL Season 4 and had to fight in a relegation match against Luminosity Gaming, who were the third place team from the Mountain Dew League Season 23. Selfless lost that series 2-0 and were effectively relegated into MDL Season 24, but earned a slot back into EPL. [hkes_show_google_ad]
