[hkes_show_google_ad] Few could have predicted the strong showing of Group B’s wildcard team Unicorns of Love in the first two weeks of the 2017 EU LCS Spring Split. After a 3-0 record left them sitting in first place of Group B, UoL’s founder and coach Fabian “Sheepy” Mallant expressed his feelings toward the new roster’s performance. “First up,” Sheepy began in a Facebook post, “[I’m] proud for the new guys Xerxe and Samux who are relatively new rookies to the EU LCS. They have been proven to work hard and be willing to practice efficiently to set the team and themselves up for success.” Heading into the 2017 Spring EU LCS season, power rankings across the board place the new roster of Unicorns of Love in the middle of the pack. With the additions of Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir and Samuel “Samux” Fernandez Fort, many were unsure how the new players would mesh with the previous members of UoL. “They’re very friendly adding to a great atmosphere and managed to accommodate smoothly to their somewhat new life and schedule,” stated Sheepy. “At that point; shout out to Zdravets “Hylissang” Galabov, Vizicsacsii, Exileh and Romain Bigeard who are great teammates and mentors to follow, that display amicable mentality and effort.” While their previous wins over Team Vitality and Origen showed the strength of their new roster, UoL’s close 2-1 victory against H2k-Gaming on Saturday was a feat few expected them to achieve. “This is but a small step in a long road ahead,” said Sheepy. “We are cautious to not act carelessly, overconfident or distracted. “Therefore, we will look to stay focused, repeating the practice we know works and put the effort in, motivated by our current results and mentality.” UoL are heading into Week 3 of the Spring Split in first, knocking H2K down to second with a 2-1 record. UoL’s Week 3 competition, Splyce, have a 1-1 record after losing to H2K and are ranked third. Confident in UoL’s chances against Splyce, Sheepy has already begun looking toward the team’s end-game goals. “For the next weeks, I feel thrilled for the fierce competition awaiting us where we face in Splyce in the EU LCS and, eyeing from afar, the international competition in Katowice.” [hkes_show_google_ad]
