SKT Wolf: “I think there was some conditioning problems that we’re steadily adjusting to while we’re also getting used to the new patch.”

SK Telecom T1 support Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan attempted to ease any potential uneasiness from fans after SKT lost its first game of the League Champions Korea summer split. After SKT defeated the bbq Olivers 2-0 on Sunday, SKT’s Wolf reassured fans in the SpoTV post-match interview that they have nothing to worry about. SKT lost 2-0 to Samsung Galaxy on Wednesday to open the summer split, but Wolf said the team will soon return to its dominant ways. “I think there was some conditioning problems that we’re steadily adjusting to while we’re also getting used to the new patch,” he said, “I think we’ll be better as we scrim and play more.” Wolf said the lack of scrims meant the team was still dealing with communication issues, which was apparent in Game 2 as SKT handed a quadra kill over to the Olivers. Drafting will also be a point of focus for SKT as the LCK is on a new patch since the Mid-Season Invitational, and adjusting to it will take time. Despite the challenges, Wolf maintained his confident stance, saying that he hopes “the fans aren’t too concerned,” and “when it comes down to it, we’ve won the most.” Wolf also appealed that the team is working harder than ever to stay on top. As always, SKT’s goals are to win the split, go straight to worlds, and then defend its championship once again. When asked how the team approaches the concept of victory, Wolf shared a champion’s mindset. “Whether it’s last year or the year before, we all discuss that as long as we are professional gamers, we must strive to win,” he said. “We’re all working really hard to win again.”
