KT Rolster top laner Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho says he uses Renekton’s SK Telecom T1 world championship skin in order to emulate a certain top laner who used to be on SKT. KT defeated the Ever8 Winners 2-0 in Thursday’s League Champions Korea match. As the sole MVP of both games, Smeb was invited to the post-match interview with OGN Casters Lee “CloudTemplar” Hyun-woo and Kim “Dangun” Ui-joong. When asked about why he used the SKT skin on Renekton, Smeb said it seems to have a positive effect on him. “It’s the coolest skin,” he said. “MaRin is also known for his Renekton, so I use it to kind of channel his ability.” Smeb’s performance as Rumble and Renekton in Thursday’s games was superb, which is even more impressive considering he might not be healthy. Smeb says he’s still not “fully recovered,” indicating that he’s still dealing with some lingering illness. But he playfully said that he feels better “with solo MVP status,” so he’s likely not far off. KT had not played a competitive match in a week, and it showed, as Game 1 was initially going firmly to the favor of Ever8. Smeb agreed with the sentiment, saying that practice went well, but on-stage performances might be something different. “We did very well in practice matches, but we faltered a bit in the first game,” he said. “I think that happened because it was a match after some time.”
