Spirit joins Afreeca Freecs

Esports Asia News

Jungler Lee “Spirit” Da-yoon, support Park “TusiN” Jong-ik and jungler Lee “Mowgli” Jae-ha have joined the Afreeca Freecs, the organization announced Friday. In a post on their Facebook page, the LCK team introduced the three players as the newest members of their team. The Freecs have been very active this offseason, dropping the entire previous roster as their contracts expired at the end of November and adding Choi “iloveoov” Yeon-sung as head coach. In the two weeks since that move, the organization has added mid laner Lee “Kuro” Seo-haeng, AD carry Ha “Kramer” Jong-hun, top laner Jang “MaRin” Gyeong-hwan and now Spirit, TusiN and Mowgli. Spirit spent 2016 with Fnatic in the EU LCS. While that team had a surprising second-place result behind SK Telecom T1 at IEM Katowice, the result of the roster’s results were otherwise mediocre, including a sixth-place finish (9-9) in the EU LCS Spring Round Robin and a fifth-place finish (7-6-5) in the summer. Spirit managed a 4.69 KDA over the summer split, seeing the most success in his six Nidalee games, with whom he earned a 9.80 KDA and a 83.3 percent win rate. TusiN has seemingly been inactive since the 2016 preseason, when he was a member of Incredible Miracle. That team would ultimately qualify for the LCK’s Spring 2016 season as a result of their victory at the promotion tournament, but were rebranded to Longzhu Gaming. Mowgli, who will likely act as a substitute for the team given that Spirit is also a jungler, was the former jungler for KeG Chungnam.
