This is not a late April Fools joke: Teemo was actually picked in the EU LCS for the first time and it went about as well as you’d expect.Splyce top laner Martin “Wunder” Hansen locked in the Swift Scout in their Week 10 match against H2k-Gaming (which was of little consequence for both teams as they will play on opposite ends of the upcoming quarterfinal bracket). The pick was a first for EU LCS, and Wunder crashed and burned to the tune of a 1/10/2 scoreline.
Teemo was mercilessly picked off multiple times in the 29-minute match, including First Blood from the First Blood King himself, H2K jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski. Wunder even earned the accolade of having the most deaths among top laners in the 2017 EU LCS Spring Split.
When asked after the match about whether he punished the Teemo enough, Jankos had a completely serious answer. “I believe I had to kill Teemo at least six times more,” he said. “I believe that in the laning phase that he didn’t die enough, and I also needed about 100 more CS and way more gold. And the pressure on the map was not enough.”
The highlight of Teemo’s competitive career definitely comes from when Hai “Hai” Lam defeated Team SoloMid with the pick at the start of Season 4, where he played it in the mid lane and won against a distraught TSM. Beyond that, the Swift Scout has either been the source of memes or unfortunate mispicks in competitive League of Legends’ most storied region. In case the article didn’t hint at it enough, H2k-Gaming won the game and the series with ease. [hkes_show_google_ad]
